Communication-First vs. App-Expandable

TickTalk 6 is rated for up to 135 hours of standby time. Pinwheel currently markets up to 48 hours of standby and approximately 12–15 hours of regular use. Actual battery life varies with screen use, calls, GPS, apps and signal.

My son is 7 years old and enjoys the watch. It allows him more freedom because I can see where he is at, text him, call him (with or without video) and drop in to listen if need be. It makes me feel safer too. I had issues with the GPS where it showed my son 3 blocks away from where he actually was. So I called the Support and they updated something for me and it's been accurate. The watch is perfect for elementary kid. No social media apps, nice parents portal, cute design, easy to use.

So far its been really awesome, only downfall is network related issues and no fault of the watch. The battery drains extremely fast inside daughters school where watch continues to search for network, tried swiching between carriers but still same issue. No public wifi available to kids either, so work around is airplane mode during school hours. Watch itself has lots of great features that my daughter really enjoys

A great alternative to airplane mode is scheduling DND through the parent app during school hours — it limits watch activity while keeping it connected, which can help with battery life too. We had the TickTalk 5 for over a year, and the TickTalk 6 is a wonderful upgrade with much more comfortable band, brighter and clearer screen. My 8yo even wore it to sleep overnight bc it was so comfortable she “forgot” to take it off before bed. So far everything is working well. We live in more rural area and can tell there’s a boost in the cell signal as well. We had tried other brands but TickTalk has been the most user-friendly and easiest to navigate. It just works!

It's still new but the quality of video is substantial from the 5. My only criticism is that the charger base is hard to make 'stick' with the case on. Took that off and no issues!

My 7-year-old is showing so much independence with her new watch! I can see her location when she’s riding the bus to and from school, visiting neighbor friends’ houses and scootering around outside. We are very happy with the TickTalk 6! The battery easily makes it through a long day of use, the design is sleeker, the band sturdier and easier to put on and take off. The speakers feel louder and clearer than prior models and my son loves his new watch. Locating him seems about as accurate as the previous model, which is pretty accurate and we have no complaints. We are able to set do not disturb time during school which helps him not get in trouble with it. He's really enjoyed being able to be in contact with his family and friends but we have the peace of mind that he doesn't have access to the Internet. Battery life is much better on the TickTalk 6 than the 5, so that's awesome. Overall we're so glad for the upgrades and find that this watch serves our family's communication needs excellently.

I love this watch for my daughter. It gives her a sense of independence without giving her too much access. I can control and see everything and I love that. The watch bands could use an upgrade. My daughter has a very small wrist and the regular is barely big enough for her. It's easy for her to use. Adding app users could be improved as sometimes I would get a failed message. I would close the app and try again and it would work. Over all. We love it.

I tried the size 5 last year and wasn’t too happy with the waistband—it kept wearing out, so I had to keep buying replacements. But I absolutely love the size 6, and my kid does too! The sound is lound and clear, it’s straight forward and simple to navigate, and the app is easy enough for my not so tech savvy parents (grandparents) to understand how to make and receive video messages and texts. We got the tick talk 6 watch for my daughter and it’s amazing. Shes 7 and way too young for a phone but with cheerleading and school it helps give me peace of mind that I know where she is. I would like to see them add a calendar feature to the watch, so I can set her cheer schedule and other events for the month. Besides that, it’s great! Maybe a longer battery life so she can wear it for alarms at night

We purchased the Tik Talk 5 for my son to hang out with friends in our subdivision and still have the piece of mind of knowing where he is, and be able to contact him when needed. It was really easy to set up, my 7 year old son figured out how to work it in less than 5 minutes. We have not had any service issues and the battery lasts a few days at least. I love that we can video chat with him, the app is super user friendly to track his location and it even plays music as he’s out riding around with his friends. I recommend this watch to everyone that has young kids trying to give them a little freedom with the piece of mind knowing where they are and who they are with.

We’ve had this watch for a few years. Overall, it’s been very reliable and the tracking is better than our AirTags. The audio is very clear and the video call option is awesome. My kid broke the wristband a few times even though he’s careful, but other than that we’ve loved it.

Love being able to see where my children are and knowing they can call or message me if they need to. The remote call feature is great for when they don't answer so you can hear what is going on. Gives them independence and me peace of mind.

My family got our first ticktalk 2 years ago. Shortly after we purchased a second one. Both watches have lasted through 4 kids so far. We pay for the extended warranty and anytime there was damage to the watch, it was replaced fairly quickly. Our family loves the ability to give our younger kids a way to communicate with friends and family while not having access to the internet. The only downside to the watches for us is there is no keyboard to text with. Two of my children do not enunciate well enough to always be understood for voice to text but as they got older, it was easier. I’d be mindful of that and definitely pay the few dollars more a month for the extended warranty. It’s worth it.
