5 Screen-Free Fall Activities The Whole Family Will Enjoy

5 Screen-Free Fall Activities The Whole Family Will Enjoy My TickTalk

We have a smart device on us at all times and stepping away can be harder than we’d like to admit. With the fall season here, it’s the perfect time to set down our screens and get the whole family to enjoy the season. Here are our picks for the best screen-free activities that will bring your family closer, while also showing our kiddos the importance of time beyond the screen.

Apple Picking At The Orchard

A family trip to your local apple orchard is a great way to spend quality time outdoors and enjoy a sweet treat at the same time. Make it a competition by who can pick the most apples, then hit the hot apple cider stand as the chilly weather rolls in and the sun goes down.

Local Pumpkin Patch

While you’re on the hunt for the perfect Halloween carving pumpkin, be sure to take advantage of the activities around the patch like hayrides, games, corn mazes, and all the delicious food. Make a whole night of it by having the whole family choose their own pumpkin for carving and host a carving night with spooky movies once you’re home. Don’t forget to share a picture of your final masterpiece in your family group chat!

Bake A Sweet Fall Treat

Spending time together as a family in the kitchen is a great way to step away from the screens and just have fun. Choosing a recipe of the week can be a perfect way to connect after a long day at school and work (plus, the desserts are a nice bonus 😉). Break out the old cookbook and turn it into a screen-free family bake-off by setting a timer on your child’s smartwatch and using this time to catch up while creating lifelong memories.

Enjoy The Autumn Air With A Family Walk

After all those desserts, an evening stroll is a perfect way to get those endorphins going and digest before bedtime. An after-dinner walk is a great ritual to step away from technology and enjoy quality time together as a family. A nightly walk is something the whole family can look forward to, serving as a time to hear about your child’s day and start meaningful conversations. A kids smartwatch with an Activity Tracker is also a great way to track steps together as a family and encourage a healthy lifestyle all around.

Volunteer & Give Back

Set an example and help those in need by volunteering at your local food bank or charity. This is a great opportunity to set an example for your little ones while also giving back to your community. Taking the time to teach our littles the importance of helping others is not only a great learning lesson, but also makes a difference in a fellow community member’s life. If you’re unsure on how to locate your local food bank, you can learn more here.

It’s hard to believe fall is already here and with a kid’s smartwatch phone, you can make it the safest yet. We’d love to hear about your family’s favorite fall activities! DM us @myticktalk and share yours!
