TickTalk to Donate Thanksgiving Meals to Families Battling Homelessness in L.A.

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BREA, California – TickTalk announces the second installment of their TickTalk Gives initiative, a commitment to giving back, to donate warm Thanksgiving meals to families battling homelessness in Los Angeles. Starting on November 1st, customers are invited to join in by adding a donation to their purchase, with TickTalk matching any dollar amount, to provide warm holiday meals to some of Los Angeles’ 69,000 unhoused individuals through the Los Angeles Mission’s annual Thanksgiving event. The second installment of TickTalk’s Give Back initiative raises awareness of the homelessness crisis in Southern California with goals to leave no man, woman, or child hungry this Thanksgiving.

“Thanksgiving is a special holiday that celebrates family and encourages gratitude. For many families though, having a warm, hearty meal isn’t possible. We hope that by donating Thanksgiving dinners, we can give families a renewed hope and sense of community to know we support them.” said Ying Gong, President and Co-Founder of TickTalk.

The Los Angeles Mission’s annual Thanksgiving event has a massive impact for families and individuals in the Los Angeles community. In 2020, the LA Mission donated 2,700 to-go boxes, each feeding 4-5 family members, during the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing warm Thanksgiving meals to an estimated 13,500 individuals on Skid Row and neighboring communities. Chefs prepared almost 2,000 pounds of roasted turkey breast, 800 pounds of mac-and-cheese, 2,500 pounds of collard greens, 1,800 pounds of stuffing, 90 gallons of gravy, 4,000 servings of fresh cranberry sauce, thousands of dinner rolls donated by King’s Hawaiian, and half a ton of peach crisp with whipped cream for dessert during their 2020 drive.

By continuing their Gives Back initiatives, TickTalk hopes the efforts will inspire others to give back to their community during this time of gratitude. To donate a meal to a family in need this Thanksgiving, supporters can place an order on TickTalk’s website and select a donation during checkout. Donations can also be made directly on Los Angeles Mission’s website. To learn more, please contact press@myticktalk.com.
